Everyone knows Santa – the one and only and most of us still believes in him . What some people don’t know, however, is that it is possible to meet him in person on one special day of the year. His funny helper Rudolph, the reindeer can also be seen in the zoo– just be sure to keep an eye open for the one with a red nose. They are together are an inseparable team, keeping one another company as they travel over rugged fells and through freshly fallen snow.
On december the 6th this year we missed the snow but had great fun in the Budakeszi Vadaspark. It’s a large protected forest in the Buda hills, located about 10 km from the center of the city as an out-of-town alternative to the zoo, with wild animals. Rabbits, deer, foxes, wild boars, wolfs, brown bears, etc. can be seen just like farm animals (donkeys, goats, sheep, ducks, etc.) native to Europe and Hungary. There is a petting zoo, a lookout, a play area and several tracks ideal for hiking.
We joined Santa Clause and his helpers for this great holiday tradition this Saturday. Brought our families to the Vadaspark Zoo and enjoyed a day full of holiday cheer. Certainly it was fun for everyone, the little ones with the sparkle in their eyes injoyed it the most. They sang christmas carols in a personal visit with Santa, got cookies and a professional photo as well, while parents could warm up with hot chocolate, mulled wine and kick off the holiday season!
