Hungary’s latest retail sales data showed a sharp rise in the ratio of online purchases. We wanted to check how Hungary fared in this respect compared to its European Union peers, but unfortunately Eurostat has no such statistics. There is, however, another similar stats available only from the other side.
Eurostat has statistics showing the value of purchases and sales of companies via the and/or other networks other than Internet. This is, of course, not the same as the Hungarian set of figures, for it includes not only the retail segment, and some local subsidiaries may also be selling to their foreign parent via their own internal systems.
Yet, it is great to see that Hungary is not falling behind in this respect – quite the contrary, it beats the EU average.
