We asked the fashion forecasters, what trends are coming in 2016. Happily we don’t have to completely change your wardrobe, it is sufficient to refresh it with couple new pieces. While the last years evoked the 60s and 70s until the following years seems to be inspired by the 80s and 90s.
Amethyst, rose quartz and turquoise
Designers created the fashion colors for next spring similar to last year: they just took a few small steps on the color spectrum. Pastels will be big again helping pop up out the tanned skin color. Simple, yet eye-catching hues will trend inspired by nature: fresh-cutted grass green, bright turquoise, lilac-purple, brilliant amethyst and light pink of rose quartz recalling the spring flowers. The mint will be replace by sage, which gives a little more restrained but more elegant look.
Translucent materials are gaining more ground: on the catwalks there are dresses which are not much different from silk lingeries. Good news for those who do not want to step out of the comfort zone the recent years’ boho-style cream-colored summer dresses are expected to remain in the stores. The widely popular statement necklaces will be tighter in 2016 evoking the ’90s chokers. Feathers are also the impact of the ’90s. Thankfully the colors are faded during the decades. For those who likes to go comfy the jumpsuits are perfect choice, and they no longer have to choose black or gray, but they can wear boldly red, peach or yellow.
Tassels, sequins and velvet
Of course winter will come with black, gray and all shades of brown, but we also can spice up our look with a burgundy vest or a dark blue dress. The ocher and cadmium also appears in the most fall-winter collection of the big fashion brands, as well as the khaki-colored military-style jackets are back. The masculine, long, straight cut coats even can reach the floor in 2016. Feather filled coats climbed back to the catwalks showing up in the collections of fashion houses like Fendi, Chanel and Moschino.
The tribal patterns will reign in winter and summer as well. Coats with huge amount of fake fur will recall the northern folk trends. The classic black-and-white patterned clothings will go wild in 2016: don’t be afraid to wear any piece of clothes with extreme b&w pattern. The little black dress will be made of gently flowing velvet, and interesting combinations of straps and transparent inserts will feature the new creations. Party outfit will be made with gold or silver fiber, the sequined tops and dresses will be also good choices, but if you really want to be fashionable wear a silver tasseled dress and a huge white fur coat. Those who prefer bold looks can catch the punk style: ripped stockings, leather and vibrant colors.
Fortunately, the fashion of 2016 allows us to choose from many different trends so everyone will find something for themselves: punk style, tribal motifs, folk-patterns and even the Mad Max-styled pieces will be cool to wear. Happy 2016!
